Misuse and abuse of the 999 service costs money and wasted time for the emergency services and may put genuine emergency services at greater risk. This service should only be used:

If there is a danger to life.
If violence is being threatened or used.
If a serious crime is in progress.
If there has been a serious road crash.
If a fire is in progress.
If you believe that they are required.
